OMG I have to say this was a TOUGH ride! 48km, the hills, the weather, the muscle bike, offft!

We met our van at 9 Duke Street at 8.50am

We get shuttled up from central Qtown with bikes to Arrowtown.

We jumped on a bus from Queenstown to Arrowtown to start our bike trip

We got our bikes, had coffee/brekky at Provisions Cafe a cute little cafe and checked out the wee gold mining town which is very cute. It reminded me of Bowral, really touristy with cute little shops and places to visit, even a goal!

We jumped onto the popular trail along the Arrow river and over a couple of cool suspension bridges up towards Gibbston Valley

Total hours 3:43 – distance around 48km

Lunch stop at 12 at Gibbston Winery – 1hr15min meandering on the track
The day was HOT! Started hot and ended hot! Relentlessly hot actually but the colours were beautiful!
Friends we met along the way
Suspension bridge rocks as you ride across!
The wildlife especially flowers are just beautiful here! The kiwi bees are on steroids in NZ!
Kawarau glacial River

Gibbston winery for lunch, got in early so did some wine tasting – booked in at 1pm, very crowded so needed a booking, there is such a shortage of staff! Many in hospitality are UK or American

Vineyard lunch
The track was so beautiful, different around every corner
Gravel path that you dont want to fall on
The track back to Queenstown has beautiful colours and contrasts
Glad to be riding in the shade, it was up to 30 degrees today
Southern Discoveries suspension bridge, another shaky one

Eat out tonight in Qtown – Margo’s ( Mexican) – 7.30pm , 26 Ballarat Street, The Mall
