Escaping Sydney for Lunch! Sometimes you don’t need a flight, a hotel or even a particularly crazy plan… you just need to get OUT of Sydney for a few hours!
SADDLES – NOW I understand the name!
A quick trip out for a sneaky lunch & rose @ Saddles… thanks to Elena for organising!
Today’s escape involved a few things I like! country air, a gorgeous lakeside restaurant, rose and friends!
It was an easy 45mins to get here and with parking in the complex
The inital view of the restaurant is so typical Aussie, sitting infront of a little lake, we loved it straight away!
We appreciated the interior design of the main foyer…
Especially the saddles for which its named after!

Great seats on the front of the balcony (nice job El!) and we ordered a few bottles of Rose to start
Our lunch was tasty!
(They had some nice choices for vegans as well for those who are)

THE GARDEN CENTRE ~ A Little Post-Lunch Wander
For those with a green thumb, there is a garden centre on location you can visit for some succulents or other plants.
The staff are very friendly and know a lot, we spent quite a bit of time looking around and enjoying the greenery
Such a nice relaxed vibe around here, very popular place to come and have something to eat and buy some plants
If you have a green thumb I do recommend checking out the garden centre
GETTING THERE…
All in all, a great day – if you like to have a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking a cute little lake, this is the place for you! Fresh air, no care in the world… They had a decent menu with fish, chicken and vegetable options (including vegan) the winelist was decent and fair priced, for us it was the location which was relaxing and took us away from the “crazy”of Sydney for the day
For me, it was the balcony sitting area looking out to the lake that I liked about this place and also the eccentric inside decorations which was really cool!
