I chose this accommodation basically for its location RIGHT next to the main cathedral! And because I love old world buildings, I wanted to see it from my balcony… And the price point was fair as well

20 min walk to Zenit El Coloquino from the main train station

It’s just on the outskirts and its very safe to walk from there to the town centre via a nice city park and a main Street into the old town
Facing right onto a Plaza – The building has a nice deep red brick finish on top and grey on the bottom – during summer they also have seats outside for guests to enjoy the view of the cathedral and the plaza
The reception area is nice modern and spacious with a mix of its old style like the wooden columns which are original and incorporated into the new building
At the reception area they have lemon water for guests to enjoy
And a Nespresso coffee machine
There was a bar area on one side and out the back a patio

The stairs lead up to the rooms and there is also an elevator

I loved the old panels and bricks that they incorporated into the new building – the facade and some of the old wall interiors have been used and creatively implimented into the new modern interior
Room 203 – I asked for one of the rooms with a balcony facing the square and Cathedral

The 2nd floor has the balconies – the higher floors have low windows and a slanted roof and not the balcony (they are still nice though! But I wanted a balcony)

Modern clean and bright room with plenty of space
The bathroom is large and has everything you need

The bed right next to the balcony and window – very comfy more hard mattress than soft but still nice
Complimentary water and chocolates was a nice touch

Must have been an original bath and sink left over from the old building, they had it randomly sitting behind the reception area

Unique shaped building

I really liked this hotel… A lot! And gave it 4 star as it was a unique building the room I wanted I got and the proximity of the old town from here so location is perfect – and service was great!
