The Lusik Aguletsi House Museum & restaurant is a really interesting place to visit!

Its a unique cultural place which is dedicated to Armenian Folk traditions and also houses an Art Cafe

Created by Lusik Aguletsi, an artist and collector, an ethnographer – she has spent her life collecting and preserving over 1000 Armenian cultural items, like costumes, jewellery and artifacts

Located outside of Yerevan near the Yerevan Train Station, If you are interesting in the Armenian culture, this is the place to visit!

  • Hours: Open daily from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
  • Experience: Includes museum tours and dining at the attached Art Cafe. 
  • Recommendation: A guided tour is highly suggested to fully appreciate the historical significance of the exhibits.

I felt, as I walked in, that I was in an armenian home, it felt welcoming and cosy and bright – the home is beautifully preserved!

We walked out towards the backyard to explore around and enjoy the sun, we sat outside in the garden for a while

Lusik Aguletsi brought back the culture of wearing national costumes, she also drew and made new national costumes

The inside was still like it was lived in and someones home – you can have a guided tour or walk around on your own

RESTAURANT

We had lunch at the restaurant on the 2nd level and the food was amazing!

The restaurant itself was in the living room so it felt like you were in a locals home having a meal with them – loved the atmosphere!

The very simple and traditional local kitchen in the home – feels like youre at your grandmothers home 🙂

A random wedding!

We ended up crashing a wedding happening here!

We ended up hearing all this noise at the front of the museum and look out and see all these people bopping up and down and the traditional Armenian musical instruments, it was so much fun and everyone was happy!

The bride looked so pretty and we congratulated her

Everything was set up for the wedding and we were really happy to experience an Armenian wedding here

Yummy gata made right on site!

It was a lovely experience seeing how local traditional life was back then in those days and it feels like I was back in time a couple of decades and seeing the wedding was a bonus!

This place is beautiful, holding onto Armenian art, culture and traditions
