Arrived from Zaragoza 13:05 to a lot of people getting off here along with me which was good! noticed many young uni kids – just keeping to themselves doing their stuff

I let the crowd go in front and hung back to take a look around the station and to see where departures was for my next trip couple days later
Found out the station is only 1 track each side

I kept looking up at the screens to see where depatures was and every time I looked up it said “arrivals”

So, had to find someone who spoke english and asked – they told me that departures and arrivals is interchanging from platform 1, looks like every time I looked away from the screens it had changed to “departures” and then as soon as I looked back up at it again it changed back to “arrivals” so i kept missing the “departures” screen LOL – so 1 platform was a new thing having come from massive Sants and Zaragoza stations

Pamplona Iruna station – main train station servicing Pamplona
Built in 1859 and services the area with high speed trains

Easy 25min walk to the old town

There was a Renfe ticket area to buy tickets from
A very small station but has all the necessities – coffee!
Only a couple of tracks here
Also a nice cafe with snacks and drinks and decent sitting areas – they also sold books! (I couldnt read any of them!)

WALKING TO TOWN

I didnt even take a look at other options other than walking as it was only 21-25mins and the walk up to the old town was easy, relaxing and beautiful

Note: I had a backpack (not a draggy suitcase) so walking for me was easy

Most of the way was via a walking/cycle path and through a park along the river
The first glimpse of the amazing old town on the hill! Worth the walk
