Seat : ended up sitting backwards again and had the tiniest ever window I have ever seen on a train! 🤣 I’ve now come to the conclusion that this is what you get when you book early and the cheapest seats! Doesn’t bother me though…

The Avant trains are Media Distancia services covered by high-speed trains (up to 250 km/h or 155 mi/h) specifically designed for short journeys, as opposed to the trains used for the AVE service.

Breakfast was included today so woke a bit early at 7:40 to so I had time to do everything before leaving at 9:20

Got to the station early and it was quiet but nice as I walked around a bit more to explore this unique and pretty station
My departure board is in a nice neomudejar frame! ♥️

Only 3 platforms at this station and it’s one way only so can’t get lost lol don’t need to show up too early, boarding starts around 20mins before

People coming and going – this Toledo line is very popular
Can’t get enough of the greenery in Atocha station 🌴

Great and easy 36min trip it’s easy to do as a day trip if you don’t have the extra couple days to stay overnight
