We all met at In Vino and all excited chatter about what we were going to experience for the day! 22k for the ticket and we were ready to start!

We had a coffee and quick chat before we started the adventure

We began our picnic adventure with some sparkly at 11am (after a coffee of course!)

We were offered a croissant with our sparking champagne! (thats a first!)

We only had a bus for 17 people and we were 23 ppl so some of the other girls jumped into a taxi and followed us

We drove around 1hr 15min to the winery

After traveling around 1.5hrs we got to KARAS WINERY

KARAS winery was absolutely HUGE! There are vineyards going for ages and also vegetable patches and other places in the area

We were served champagne and they gave us a tour around the winery with our glass in our hands! never would this EVER happen in the life of Brian in Australia!!! no way… so I enjoyed every second!

We had a good tour, its a very large and modern factory with many bells and whistles!

They had also old school facilities as well to give the wine that special flavour

There was this beautiful hand painted keg there! loved it

We then drove around the vineyard and had a look around, vines for ages~

We stopped at a view point and had a pic taken and chilled under the trees a bit

You remember you’re in Armenia when you see a Khatchkar in a quiet vineyard

We had another glass of wine, this time a nice cool rose and enjoyed the silence of the Armenian outback

We drove a little to come to our beautiful green picnic spot under the trees which was so nicely set up!

We had some grapes in baskets picked from the vineyards here

It was so relaxing and beautiful sitting and enjoying the peace and the nice food and wine

The boxes of food and snacks were perfect!

The yummy lunch pack

Rest and relax time on the lovely grass

We all had a beautiful day or laughter wine and fun! A great group of people and we loved the time we had all together and learnt a thing or two about wine

I hadn’t been to Karas before and you can tell they are running an efficient and amazingly successful business, the owner is an Armenian from Argentina who also helped fund the building of Zvartnots airport – so…. MINTED!

I loved this day, wish I hadn’t had a big night before as I would have had more wine if I had the capacity! The wines were all lovely and enjoyable
