Flying to Sofia from Yerevan, best airline is Wizz with relatively cheap flights (doesnt include baggage) I had “priority” tickets which meant i could take an onboard trolley bag and a backpack both up to 10kg each

A nice easy 20mins to the airport from city centre at this time, no traffic and no hassles

Flight time 2hrs 40mins direct to Sofia

Going straight to the Wizz air check in counter which was empty and took 5mins
The airport was pretty quiet when I got in at 10pm

But after 11pm it started to fill up and there were many flights leaving at every which time! The airport operates at all hours

Departure gate 2
The departure lounge is very small, has only 5 departure gates
Boarding started from gate 2 at 11:45pm

There are 2 cafes on either side and a duty free in the middle

We waited outside to board the plane in 6degrees for a good 20mins! Lol it was very soviet of them and no one complained!! 🤣 very soviet of them too lol no one said a word and shuffled on… no apologise nothing from the air crew

They had a few front seats available at the front of the plane and the airhostess advertised the seats were for sale for €20!
Bus from the plane to the terminal – didnt take too long
Yellow cab taxi rank at the airport – easy!

If you arrive at late to the airport, I suggest taking one of the yellow cabs, which cost around 20-25BGN

If you have time and want to save money, take a shuttle to Terminal 2 and catch the metro for only 1.60bgn to the city centre

All in all and easy and comfortable experience with WIZZ and Sofia International Airport
