15hrs to Dubai

Arrived at the airport with 4hours to spare

The airport was empty as it was a Wednesday and one of the least busy days of the week here

Cris kindly dropped us off at the airport

Ok just me complaining here 😜🤨… (Quite unhappily) paid $5 to use a damn trolley just for the duration of checking the bags in…

Edit: as I passed via Dubai and landed in Yerevan, both locations had free use of trolleys and from memory all other airports Ive been to are free, so why is australia charging? Anyways…

Nice and quiet at the airport check in area

Paid $2.20 to weigh my bags… Thanks Sydney airport for taking my money in any which way you possibly can 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Check in opened 4hrs before

Emirates gave me issues with the weight of my luggage, they even weighed my carry on bag which was meant to be 7kgs, I had 11kgs and was 3 kgs over on my main check in

Hmmm… Looks like airlines are becoming greedier… She kept saying “for safety purposes” and I’m like yeah right… You sure it’s not for “greedy” purposes 😆🫣

They wanted to charge me $380 for an extra 5kgs! If my friend Kogi wasn’t there I would have had to pay this… Anyways, It worked out well, I repacked and hung some stuff over my back like a camel, luckily as I was a Silver member, I went to the business class counter and got someone else to check me in…

After all the kuffuffle, we had a blast catching up over wine and waiting for our seperate departures
I asked to have a seat at the back and as the flight wasn’t too full there was a spare seat next to me

Met an interesting guy sitting next to me called Rahul, who is a flight doctor and who accompanies injured or sick people on flights from one country to the next, he had some really interesting stories of his flights around the world so that kept me entertained for a while 😁

Dinner was served 30mins into the flight

It was a really nice vegan ravioli tomato based dish

For those who know me, this is quite a “normal” thing that I do 😆… so, I brought my own spinach and carrot salad and it added to the meal perfectly! I just would like more salad and greens with my meals onboard if im honest and just bring it myself now lol

My own gourmet baby tomatoes, adds a pop of colour to the meal 😀

Over all, It was a comfy flight and got to sleep for most of the time which was good…

The nighttime snack (which I missed and had later) was a vegetarian Cornish pastry which was actually quite nice!
Dinner was really nice, spinach and potato frittata with tomato and white beans – dessert was coconut vanilla yoghurt and fruit

I really enjoyed this meal! Of course added more of my coleslaw and carrots to the dish

Boarding info very straight forward

Landed without a glitch! Perfect flight with no turbulence and awesome landing

Went this way and that way guided by large signs and friendly staff with nothing much to do!
Had to walk quite a bit to get to Terminal 2

This time the bus that took us there was a bit delayed so took over an hour to get through 2 security checking areas, a train and a bus to finally get to my check in counter F11

Flydubai has the smaller terminal

Im getting used to getting around Dubai international airport and now know exactly whats around and where to go

By the time I got to my gate, I only had a short wait of 1 hour to board

All in all was a great flight, very comfortable and just glad I got some sleep!
