The walk from the hotel was only around 20mins but it was colddd and foggy – so different from yesterday with the blue skies – and 4 degrees!

The streets were busy with people going to work

The overcast weather gave the city a sad and dreary look compared to yesterday where every single beautiful building looked alive! This is another beautiful side to Valladolid though!

Walked in to a pretty bustling station people dressed in full winter gear and a lot of draggy suitcase noises going on!

Decided to go to the platform a bit early at 9:10 (for a 9:40 departure) even if I had to stand outside in the cold

I saw the train on the platform with the right info but it was only 2 carriages! Here I was preping myself that I might have to make a run from one side of the platform to the other to find my carriage but it was too easy and too early, whats going on?

Coche 2 – had 50% chance of getting this right lol

I saw a lady on board so I jumped in thinking, right, if the door closes right now then im heading to Timbuktu and I accept my fate… luckily the doors stayed open and the lady confirmed that this was my train… but 30mins ahead its already ready?

This was an MD (media distance) train and more used for closer distances and regional

The difference here was there was no check in counter to scan the ticket – the train inspector scanned the ticket on board the train as soon as it departed

My seat was one of the 4 facing each other… funny that, when booking it gives you the option of requesting a window, aisle or quiet (solo) seat (asked for solo) and they uhh, give me this seat right in the middle of the carriage! 🤣 and im going backwards again lol

Not much makes sense right now but its getting there! Lol

We stopped at one station Medina Del Campo before heading directly to Salamanca

The sun came out around 10am and the blue skies came out to say hi

I really liked these seats! Train ride was comfy and we left perfectly on the dot at 9:40 carriage not too full this time and the view was most of the way fog – the countryside on this ride was flat and mostly farmland, looked like vineyards mostly
