There are so many museums in Yerevan and this has been on my list for a while

The house-museum of the famous composer Aram Khachatryan, was founded in 1978. Created to keep the memory of Aram alive!

On the first floor there is the memorial house, library, offices. From the foyer, a winding staircase leads to the second floor, where 10 spacious and bright showrooms are dedicated to permanent display. On the second floor there is also a sound library and a concert hall.

The mansion has been preserved unchanged and the 2 storey museum was built around it and the inner courtyard has been preserved

presented to Aram Khachatryan by the Government of Soviet Armenia in 1947

The level 2 exhibition halls

This was cool! you open the book and it starts playing some of the famous music pieces of Aram’s

There is an imposing statue of Aram infront of Opera

Some items in the museum display

Piano signed by Aram himself

The beautiful concert hall – I was the only one in the museum so it was so nice experiencing the silence and imagining what it would have been like in the hey day

Hard at work

The one-story mansion (architect Mark Grigoryan) consisted of five spacious rooms and had garden near the house

The decision to turn this into a museum was made in 1976 during his lifetime so he actually got to see the designs and sketches of the idea and put his 2 cents in

Aram loved his apartment, his mother, brother and his family mostly lived here and he used to stop here when visiting the Motherland

The entrance area leading into the rooms

The bedroom at the front of the house

The dining room eating area

The music room and playing area where he used to play

The garden area behind the house

An interesting exhibition on the life of Aram
